Garrard collaborates with Cliveden HouseDecember 3, 2020
A very special Christmas experience
For Christmas 2020, two historic Houses have joined forces to provide an exclusive festive experience at one of the most storied hotels in Britain.
Guests of the five-star Cliveden House in Berkshire will be able to admire a bejewelled Christmas tree, designed and dressed by Garrard, accompanied by a quintessentially British afternoon tea experience with a difference, including an elegant Garrard chocolate cake created especially for the occasion.
Garrard’s Heritage Trunk
A jeweller to kings and queens, tiaras are inextricably linked to Garrard. With a long history of designing and creating bespoke tiaras for the British Royal Family, one of the highlights of Garrard’s Christmas collaboration with Cliveden House is its Heritage Trunk, which will be paying a special visit during the festive period.
To accompany the festivities, a pop-up Garrard boutique will open on Thursday 3rd December located within the Great Hall at Cliveden House. Showcasing a collection of hand-curated jewels, from earrings to rings, pendants and bangles, each piece bearing the quintessential British hallmarks of heritage and craftsmanship.
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree
The 17-foot Christmas tree that is all set to greet guests upon their arrival at Cliveden House will be festooned in eye-catching geometric paper gemstones and miniature Garrard gift boxes, accompanied by luxurious pearlescent baubles, each one in the prettiest shades of blush and regal red, a colour palette that will be immediately recognisable to clients of Garrard.
Each decoration has been crafted to showcase enduring symbols of the House. From its Sovereign and Windsor motifs, to hand-held fans capturing the excitement and glamour of opera masquerades which were the height of fashion when Garrard opened its first boutique in London in 1735. Beneath the tree, luxurious gifts wrapped in Garrard paper will complete the idyllic festive scene.
“This Christmas collaboration is the coming-together of two fascinating histories,” says Joanne Milner, Chief Executive of Garrard. “Just like Garrard, Cliveden’s past is filled with icons and powerful figures, and it is this legendary heritage and sense of awe that we are aiming to capture with a beautiful Christmas tree and afternoon tea experience, accompanied by the Heritage Trunk.”
Commenting on the festive partnership, Cliveden’s General Manager, Francisco Macedo said: “With Garrard’s historic links with the property dating back to the 18th Century when Frederick, Prince of Wales, who had made Cliveden House his principal country residence, provided their first Royal Commission, it is wonderful to highlight our close association and provide our guests with such a sparkling visual treat.”
