Discover Garrard Through The Eras

To mark a momentous milestone in pioneering the art of jewellery-making, we celebrate the cornerstone moments that defined each age of Garrard with a distinct sense of style, design, and innovation.

Launching with our very first beginnings in the 1700s, each era will unfold as its own new chapter throughout the course of our four-part 290 series:

Standing The Test of Time

Trusted and worn by those who shaped and inspired history, Garrard’s legacy is a story of reinvention, remastery, and remarkable permanence. Whilst many things have changed, our values have remained unwavering.

The Art of Craftsmanship

The craft of jewellery making is a skill of precision, creativity, and intricacy that we continue to invest, evolve, and nurture. From the meticulous detail in transformable designs such as the Fringe Tiara, with its delicate framework capable of holding an elaborate detachable necklace, to the splendour of the world’s largest colourless cut diamond, the Cullinan I, mounted into the Sovereign’s Sceptre by Garrard in 1911.

With every creation, Garrard honours its past while shaping the future of excellence in craftsmanship.

A State of Perpetual Innovation

Drawing inspiration from the muses of today we take the craft of jewellery to new and ever greater heights.

Our reputation for intricate transformative design has been adapted for the seamlessness of modern times, perfectly expressed in pieces such asAlbemarle Abstract Transformable Diamond Earrings.

While our expertise in rare gems has led us to using a billion year-old meteorite as a precious stone in jewellery, showcased in ourWings Rising limited-edition meteorite pieces.

As technology and tradition evolves, so too does Garrard’s influence in showing where imagination, creativity, and craftsmanship can combine to create the extraordinary and everlasting.

A Precious Responsibility

We embrace a duty to honour what came before as we continue to shape the story for the next generation of jewellery lovers. This commitment is reflected in our dedication to sustainable practices, having been a trailblazer among fine jewellery houses in achieving the Butterfly Mark, awarded only to brands that meet the highest standards for people and planet. We carry this responsibility into the way we advance our craft and reimagine what it means to serve each new generation, earning our place as the jeweller of choice.

As an official Royal Warrant holder, a distinction we have held since 1735 and proudly maintained under every British monarch since, Garrard continues to uphold this legacy with pride.

Defining The Next Era

Our Heritage Is What Drives Us Forward

As we look ahead to our 300th year and beyond, we do so with the knowledge that each new creation becomes the archive of tomorrow. Garrard’s next chapter will not only reflect our legacy, it will redefine the future of jewellery.

By understanding what came before, we shape what must come next. Our enduring pride and passion for what jewellery is, what it signifies, and what it can become is the essence of the Garrard brilliance. A brilliance that continues to inspire, innovate and lead.

Step Into Garrard

Purpose built for Garrard in 1910, our five storey flagship boutique stands proudly on the corner of Albemarle Street in one of London’s most distinguished neighbourhoods. This commanding space is steeped in heritage and craftsmanship. More than a boutique, it is a landmark of British history, where timeless artistry meets contemporary luxury.

The boutique has long been a setting worthy of royalty. Upstairs, the Queen Mary Room, named in honour of her 81st birthday in 1948 with her gracious permission, remains a treasured feature of the house. Queen Mary first visited in 1911 and returned many times thereafter. This private, invitation-only space offers a rare glimpse into Garrard’s most storied traditions. Rich in historic detail and rare artefacts, it is the only location outside the Tower of London to have twice hosted the Crown Jewels.

Today, visitors can still trace the footsteps of history. Handwritten royal signatures and pages from the original Garrard visitor book are proudly displayed, offering an intimate glimpse into our longstanding relationship with the Crown and our loyal patrons.

These cherished relics do more than tell our story.

They inspire us to continue serving the next generation with the same dedication, distinction and brilliance that have defined Garrard for 290 years.
