In 1957, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II commissioned Garrard to create a majestic tiara in aquamarines and diamonds, to match a necklace and earrings given by the President of Brazil to mark her coronation in 1953. With their beautiful, cool translucency, icy blue aquamarines quickly became a Garrard signature.
